VERA NEUMANN INSPIRED ART CLASS / Thursday, August 1st 6pm-8pm (adults)
Do you know Vera Neumann's work? If not, she was an incredible artist who made lots of work in the 1960's-1980's which was printed and sold on scarves, dishes, bedding, clothing and more. You may remember seeing her signature, "Vera" in the corner of a scarf with a little ladybug. I LOVE her work and find so much inspiration from her style and approach so I thought it would be fun to have a class where we can look at her work and make some of our own inspired by her! I have a book about her life, which I'll have here and I'll share some history about her and show lots of examples to get us inspired and curious. Then we'll jump in and play around with different mediums like she did-watercolor paints, India Ink, pen and ink and make art on beautiful papers to take home. This is a great class for anyone looking for some creative time, anyone who is feeling stuck creatively and wants something new to try.
She is very inspiring to me as an artist who was prolific, traveled the world, experimented with different artistic styles and mediums and had a lot of commercial success.
This class is open to anyone 18 years and older. No previous art experience is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to try new things. All supplies are included.
There are 8 spots available!
